This home is located in the Lake Jeanette neighborhood in Greensboro, North Carolina. The clients were a professional couple with kids and dogs who had recently relocated from the New York area. They wanted a light and bright interior design with a great flow for formal entertaining. This home was a new construction project, and custom design elements were very important to the relaxed yet formal feel of the space. From the high gloss painted black floors to the custom designed built-ins, details mattered.
The open floor plan, high ceilings and expansive windows of this home made the perfect backdrop for the light and airy design concept. We created a classic, clean look with a modern flair. Because the clients like to entertain, we created relaxed yet sophisticated dining and living areas with flexible seating to accommodate guests. In the living room, we introduced pops of black and green to create a bold statement against a neutral ivory palette. We brought in a bar made of ebonized wood with inlaid stainless steel accents as a statement piece that doubles as storage. The decor for this project was full of special custom details, from the leather wallpaper in the bathroom to the built-ins in the living room. The result of this interior design project is a home that is a blend of structured and soft, traditional and modern, and elegant and streamlined.
